Why Tech Bucks????
Agenda for March 17th and 19th Preparing for the video wave in education http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGFdRjrakc4

http://sites.google.com/site/21stcenturytools4teachers/classroom-news/videoteleconferencewheelingibfloridakingswaydeepcreek

Wednesday, November 18th, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m and Friday, November 20th, 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Both sessions will focus on Enrich. Enrich is a web-based software program designed for our district's progress monitoring needs. It is the tool we will use in the implementation of Response to Intervention. Users will be able to view the schools created interventions and requests for Instructional Support Team (IST) assistance. They will learn to create an intervention, progress monitor the intervention and request IST assistance. Within this training we will discuss teacher's responsibilities at Tier 1 and 1A and what they will enter into Enrich. We will discuss the information the IST will expect to see and how they might evaluate data that is presented in Enrich to make instructional support decisions. If time allows, we will show them how to create a report that can be used to target students they might want to start interventions.

If you already been through Enrich training and you are still interested in learning some new skills please reply to this email by end of day Thursday and I will enroll you in a self paced tutorial using Atomic Learning. The tutorial will walk you through some of the features of the future email program we will be using in APS. This will all be done online.

In addition, we have had a few emails from staff asking what each Tech Bucks will be about and how they find that information. The information for each session can be found in Avatar. I attached a screen shot showing that under the "Details" tab a user must scroll down to see the content for the course.

2009 Tech Bucks is back!

Starting this Thursday (3PM) and Friday (8AM), The APS Dept. of Instrucational Technology will be offering Tech Bucks.

Tech Bucks is an unique program that is sponsored by Aurora Public Schools and the School Executives of Aurora. Tech Bucks is designed for administrative and professional technical staff. It is a way for leaders in our organization to learn new skills and to stay up with the latest in the world of technology. An administrator or professional technical staff member can earn money that can be used to purchase various types of technologies. Some purchases in the past have included higher end cell phones, laptops, digital cameras, and scanners. A person must explain how the purchase will relate to their position and the item, in most cases, will be approved.

Implementation of "Guest Wireless"

Starting with the 2009 school year, APS is considering the activation of guest wireless at school sites. This would allow students to have access to the internet via any capable internet ready device (laptop, ipod, cell phone, etc.) We would like your thoughts on "Guest Wireless"?

Things to consider, the wireless access will still be filtered through APS, to block unwanted sites. What are the pros and cons you see as an administrator, as a teacher, and as a student? Would you be for… Continue
